A drift kart is a low-slung go-kart with a rear axle meant to break traction. The back end steps out and you hold the slide on throttle and counter-steer. It is the cheapest car-control practice there is, and most of what is sold for it is rated under 140 lb, spot welded at the corners, and sealed shut. Ours are not: 1.5 mm TIG-welded steel frames, a published 250 lb rating on every adult kart, and battery packs you can buy again in year four.

Not everyone wants to slide. Every model takes grip wheels, the electric go-kart range covers cruising and cone courses, and the off-road kart handles grass, gravel and dirt. Builders start from the same chassis on frames and kits, and every component is listed on parts so a failure is a repair rather than a replacement.

Common questions

How fast do drift karts go?

Kids models run 8 to 14 mph. Adult electric drift karts typically run 20 to 30 mph, and high-voltage models like our 72V R3 reach 40 mph. Speed matters less than surface: 25 mph on a slick warehouse floor feels faster than 40 mph on open asphalt.

Are drift karts street legal?

In almost every US state, no. A drift kart has no VIN, no lighting package and no DOT tires, so it cannot be registered for public roads. Private property, closed lots with permission, and tracks are where they belong.

What age is a drift kart for?

Our Cadet 24 is rated from age 8, the Cadet 36 from 12, and adult karts from 16 with the R3 restricted to 18 and up. Rider weight and the space you have matter as much as age.

What surface do I need?

Smooth and sealed. Polished concrete, an indoor court, fresh asphalt or a sealed parking lot. Rough asphalt eats slide sleeves quickly, and grass or gravel needs the off-road setup instead.

Can I ride in the rain?

No. All models are splash resistant, not waterproof, and a wet slick surface removes what little rear grip you have. Store indoors.

How long does the battery last?

45 to 75 minutes of mixed riding depending on model and rider weight. Charge time is 4 to 6 hours on the included charger. Packs are user-replaceable and sold separately.
