Returns

The short version

30 days from delivery, on unused items in original packaging. Parcel items are straightforward. Freight items are not cheap to send back, and we would rather be direct about that than surprise you.

Shipping to you is free on every order. That does not make a change-of-mind return free, because moving a crated kart back across the country is a real cost that has to sit somewhere. If the item is faulty or we sent the wrong thing, we cover freight both ways.

Parcel items

Sleeves, parts, gear, chargers, and the Cadet karts.

Unused and in original packaging, 30 days, and we cover return shipping if the item is faulty or we sent the wrong thing. If it is a change of mind, return shipping is yours and there is no restocking fee.

Refund is issued within five business days of the item arriving back.

Freight items

Ripcord R1, Ripcord R3, Torque T2 and the YAWKART chassis.

These ship crated at 110 to 170 lb, and a return means a truck. Real numbers:

Cost
Return freight$120 - $250 depending on distance
Restocking, if the crate has been opened10% of item price
Restocking, crate unopened and reusableNone

On a $1,295 kart, a change-of-mind return with an opened crate is roughly $250 to $380 all in. That is not a penalty we invented, it is what moving a crated kart across the country twice costs.

Keep the crate for 30 days. A kart returned without it arrives damaged, and that turns a clean return into a dispute.

If the return is because the kart is faulty or we sent the wrong item, we cover freight both ways and there is no restocking fee.

Batteries

Unopened and unused packs can be returned within 30 days, shipped ground only under hazardous materials rules, at your cost for a change of mind.

Once a pack has been charged and used, it cannot be resold and is not returnable except as a warranty claim. This is a safety and regulatory position rather than a commercial one.

What counts as used

Not used: assembled, sat on, charged, and ridden on a clean indoor floor to check fit and reach. Checking whether a kart fits a rider is exactly what we would want you to do inside the return window.

Used: ridden outside, ridden on any surface that marks the sleeves or tires, or modified in any way.

The line is essentially whether we can honestly sell it to the next person as new.

How to start a return

Email us with your order number and the reason within 30 days of delivery. We will send return instructions, and for freight items we will arrange the carrier, because a private individual booking freight usually pays more than we do.

Do not ship anything back before contacting us. Unannounced returns arriving at our dock without paperwork are difficult to match to an order.

We would rather you did not need this

The most common return in this category is a kart that was the wrong size for the rider or the wrong speed for the space, and both are avoidable before purchase.

Weigh the rider. Measure the space. Check the surface. Those three answers decide almost every purchase here, and the buying guide walks them in order.

If you are between two models, email us with the rider’s weight, your surface and the dimensions of your riding area. We will tell you which one to buy, including when the answer is the cheaper one.

Shipping methods and timescales are on shipping.

Common questions

Can I return a kart I have ridden?

Once a kart has been ridden outside, it is used, and we can only take it back as a warranty claim if there is a fault. Riding it on a clean indoor floor to check fit does not count against you.

What does it cost to return a freight item?

$120 to $250 in return freight depending on distance, plus a 10% restocking fee if the crate has been opened. On a $1,295 kart that is $250 to $380 total.

Do I need the original crate?

For freight items, yes. A kart returned unprotected will arrive damaged, and that becomes a dispute nobody enjoys. Keep the crate for 30 days.

Are batteries returnable?

Unopened and unused, yes, under ground-only hazmat shipping. Once a pack has been charged and used it cannot be resold and is not returnable except as a warranty claim.
