Every kart we build is electric, and not for environmental reasons. Instant torque is what breaks traction, and near-silence is what decides whether a property manager lets you ride. 24V to 72V, 8 to 40 mph.

Why every kart here is electric

Torque from zero rpm. An electric motor makes peak torque the instant it turns. Breaking rear traction is a torque event, not a speed event, so this is not a marketing advantage in this category, it is the mechanism the whole activity depends on. A small gas engine has to be in its power band, which means slipping a clutch and waiting.

Nobody calls the police. A gas kart at 95 to 105 decibels ends a session on a suburban or industrial lot in about twenty minutes. An electric kart is a tire squeal and a whine, and people walk past it. This single fact decides where you can ride, which decides how often you ride.

Almost no maintenance. No oil changes, no air filter, no spark plug, and no carburettor that gums up over a winter of sitting. The carburettor is the number one reason a gas machine that ran fine in October will not start in April.

For adults

The adult range runs 48V to 72V and is rated to 250 lb throughout. The Ripcord R1 at 48V and 25 mph is where most adult buyers should start. The Ripcord R3 at 72V and 40 mph is a second kart, sensible on a large sealed lot with runoff. Both are on adult drift karts.

Adult electric karts are where the torque advantage is most obvious. At 250 lb of rider on a 48V system, an electric motor pulls out of a slide in a way a comparable small gas engine simply does not, because the gas engine has to get back into its band first.

For kids

24V and 36V, 8 and 14 mph, rated to 110 and 130 lb, with a physical parent-set limiter. Electric matters differently here: no fuel to handle, no hot exhaust at child height, no pull cord, and a limiter that is a software setting rather than a mechanical restriction. Full range on kids drift karts.

For loose ground

Smooth sealed surfaces are what slide sleeves need. If your ground is grass, gravel or hardpack dirt, the answer is knobby tires, more clearance and suspension travel, which is a different machine rather than a tire swap. The Torque T2 at 60V and 28 mph is that machine, and the full case is on off-road electric go-karts.

Voltage matters beyond speed. Power is volts times amps, so the same output at higher voltage needs less current, and current is what makes heat. That is why a 72V kart holds its performance through a session where a 48V kart pushed to the same output starts backing off. Detail in which voltage you need.

The battery question to ask any seller

Is a replacement pack listed for sale, at a price, with a standard connector?

Three yeses means the kart outlives its first battery, which arrives in three to five years. A sealed proprietary pack with no listed replacement means you are buying a countdown at a durable-goods price. Ours are XT90, removable, and listed: $180 for 24V, $260 for 36V, $495 for 48V, $795 for 72V.

Runtime, honestly

45 to 75 minutes of mixed riding, and drifting draws more than cruising because holding a slide keeps the motor at high torque and low rpm. Charge time is 4 to 6 hours.

If runtime is your constraint, buy a second pack rather than a bigger kart. Two 20 Ah packs beat one 40 Ah pack: same total riding, a two minute swap instead of a four hour wait, and a spare when one eventually fails.

Common questions

Are electric go-karts good for adults?

For riding on private property in short sessions, they are the better choice. Instant torque, no maintenance, and quiet enough that noise does not end the session. Gas still wins on all-day runtime and cold weather.

How fast are electric go-karts?

8 mph on a 24V kids kart, 25 mph on a 48V adult kart, 40 mph on a 72V. Voltage sets the ceiling and gearing decides where under it you sit.

How long do they run per charge?

45 to 75 minutes of mixed riding. Recharge is 4 to 6 hours, which is the real trade against gas. A second pack turns a 60 minute session into a 120 minute one with a two minute swap.

Do electric go-karts need maintenance?

Very little. Bolt checks, tire pressure, sleeve wear and sensible battery habits. No oil, filter, plug or carburettor to gum up over a winter of sitting.

Can I ride an electric go-kart in the rain?

No. They are splash resistant, not waterproof, and water into a controller housing or pack connector is a repair rather than an inconvenience.
